Terra, One Thousand Group and Major Food Group broke ground on the 56-story Villa Miami condo in the Edgewater neighborhood.

Located on the 0.88-acre site along Biscayne Bay at 710 N.E. 29th St., the condo will feature 70 large units. They will range from half-floor residences of 3,000 square feet to full-floor residences covering 6,000 square feet. Prices start at $5 million.

“Our thesis for Villa Miami merges world-class design, culinary excellence and the finest living standards,” stated David Martin, CEO of Terra. “This project elevates the luxury condo market while embracing a low-density approach that enhances exclusivity.

Miami-based Terra is one of the largest condo developers in Miami-Dade County.

One Thousand Group is led by Kevin Venger, Louis Birdman and Michael Konig, who previously were among the partners who developed the One Thousand Museum luxury condo in downtown Miami.

Major Food Group, which joined as a partner in Villa Miami in 2023, is a New York-based restaurant company that will provide exclusive dining experiences for residents. It owns restaurants such as Carbone, ZZ’s Club and Dirty French.

At Villa Miami, Major Food Group will create the Cooper Club, a three-floor private club for residents with a private dining area, lounges, a movie room and a hair salon. Other amenities in the project will include a rooftop helipad, a yacht club, wellness facilities such as a fitness center and a spa, and a pool.

“This groundbreaking marks a significant milestone in our entry into the luxury residential market,” stated Jeff Zalaznick, co-founder of Major Food Group. “From the amenities and culinary offerings to the design elements and even the smallest touches, like bathroom sinks and kitchen finishes, our involvement has been deeply personal. This is more than just a building—it’s a celebration of MFG’s passion, precision and unmatched quality.”

Fort Lauderdale-based Moss Construction is the general contractor of the project. Hollywood-based ODP Architecture designed the project, The condo should be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.

The developers have yet to secure a construction loan, but said they plan to obtain one in the future. They didn’t to say how many units have been pre-sold.
